Understanding Base 10
Base 10: Our Number System Foundation
Our entire number system is built on base 10. This means we have 10 digits: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Examples of Base 10:
- 10 = 1 ten + 0 ones
- 47 = 4 tens + 7 ones
- 89 = 8 tens + 9 ones
- 100 = 10 tens = 1 hundred

4 tens + 7 ones = 40 + 7 = 47
Understanding Base 100
Base 100: The Super Base Number
Base 100 is 10 × 10. It's super useful in Vedic Math for quick calculations!
Examples of Base 100:
- 100 = 1 hundred + 0 tens + 0 ones
- 247 = 2 hundreds + 47
- 599 = 5 hundreds + 99
- 1000 = 10 hundreds
